After a year-and-a-half hiatus, due to the pandemic, The Mayflower Community independent living residents are now conducting ecumenical worship services. Because the previous site of Chapel services, the Carman Center, is now being used exclusively for Health Center activities, the multi-purpose Kiesel Theatre in the Pearson building has been retrofitted as the Mayflower chapel. During this recent favorable weather, Mayflower residents have been able to enjoy Friday evening’s “Music in the Park,” next door to The Mayflower Community. The Mayflower Community just completed a “Spring Break” for Health Center and Beebe Assisted Living residents. The good news: No arrests for disorderly conduct. This all means we are rounding the corner of this insipid pandemic thing. It helps that all but two of all those Mayflower residents are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 infection.
