Located on the sidewalk in front of the wild grass garden of Mayflower Community residents Lois and Gayle Strickler, Jr. is a park bench made out of “milk jugs.” After Gayle and Lois moved to Grinnell from Marshalltown, they groomed the garden and then added the unique bench that is pictured. Mayflower Residents Enjoy Music in the Park

During this recent favorable weather, Mayflower residents have been able to enjoy Friday evening’s “Music in the Park,” next door to The Mayflower Community. Bill Lawyer is an acoustical guitarist from Marshalltown. On Tuesday, July 6th, Bill played outdoors for Mayflower residents in the Beebe Circle and in the Health Center Courtyard. Mayflower Parades on the 4th of July

A standing committee of Mayflower Community residents organized a multiple-floats entry for Grinnell’s annual 4th of July Parade. The City’s parade began at Davis School on the corner of Hamilton and Broad. It proceeded north on Broad right through the west side of the Mayflower campus and on downtown to the north side of Grinnell.
