Middle Way Farm made its last delivery of CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture) vegetables to The Mayflower Community on October 20th. Because so many Mayflower residents signed up for weekly CSA foods this summer, Middle Way added a stop on Mayflower Lane at the Buckley Courtyard veranda.
Middle Way Farm is owned by Jordan Scheibel, a 2009 Grinnell College graduate who decided to stay in Grinnell and “farm.” His two acres of truck vegetables is in the process of certifying its chemical-free operation as “organic.” Jordan is married to Emily Guenther, Grinnell College’s Dean and Director of the Prison Program. Emily’s parents, Gerry and Nancy Guenther moved from Wisconsin to The Mayflower Community to join in the fun.
