On Thursday, December 8th, The Mayflower Community celebrated re-establishment of a pre-pandemic tradition: A special dinner followed by entertainment in the Carman Center. The meal event was the Prelude to Christmas Dinner. Served in the warm atmosphere of the holiday-arrayed Buckley Dining Room, the dinner featured beef bourguignon, roasted vegetables, and Brussel sprouts and pomegranate.

Aubrie Torhorst, a Grinnell College senior art major and co-captain of the College golf team, has conducted several workshops with Mayflower Community Health Center residents. In this volunteer work, the Wisconsin native displayed some of her artwork and directed residents as they did their own drawings. Last October, Aubrie led a session to produce monsters.
