Gone Fishing at Mayflower

Harry Bolton spent the September 25th-26th weekend with his daughter Mary Bolton at her farmstead in rural Columbus Junction. While there, he had the opportunity to fish her pond with the results shown in the accompanying photo. Harry lives in The Mayflower Community’s Health Center.

The opportunity to enjoy the outside AND do some fishing was a pleasure for Harry. This weekend was reminiscent of his annual family fishing trips to Canada.

Harry and his wife Jo were among the first residents to move into Mayflower’s Watertower Square apartments in November of 2015. Subsequently, Harry moved to Beebe Assisted Living and then to the Health Center. Jo continues to live in the Watertower Square apartment.

Harry is the retired plant manager for Grinnell’s Farmhand Manufacturing Company. In 1991, Farmhand was acquired by AGCO Corporation, whose most famous brand is Massey Ferguson.
