On Tuesday, March 1st, The Mayflower Community (Grinnell IA) celebrated Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) in the Health Center and Beebe Assisted Living. Residents donned Mardi Gras masks, beads, and hats while enjoying photos, history, and a trivia quiz. The Mayflower Community Life and Wellness staff served freshly-baked king cakes, compliments of Mayflower Foodservices. One piece of the king cake in the Health Center and one in Beebe contained the traditional plastic baby, symbolizing the birth of Jesus Christ, bringing to the diner good luck.
