Worship During the Pandemic

So, how do you worship during the pandemic? Houses of worship closed. Social distancing. Face masks. Restrained singing. Limited pastoral visits.

It is difficult. As some houses of worship are slowly reopening, the safest venue continues to be ONLINE.

In addition, some faith groups are finding ways to gather safely. As you can see in the accompanying photo, Pastor Eric Schubert, the new minister at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, met recently with a small group of parishioners in The Mayflower Community. That is one way to stay connected, especially for a pastor in the process of meeting their new congregation.

The safest way to continue to worship is online. Many houses of worship are offering regular services via the Internet, even while they are getting back to in-person gatherings. To support these options, The Mayflower Community has created an expansive listing of online worship sources, “Religious Services Online Resource.” It can be found on the “COVID-19” page of our website under the “General Information” heading: https://www.mayflowerhomes.com/covid-19-information/.

May this be a blessing to you.
