Mayflower Celebrates Veterans Day

On Thursday, November 11th, The Mayflower Community (Grinnell) celebrated the annual Veterans Day with a program, a slide show, and an apple caramel bread pudding afternoon snack. The theme was “Honor, Courage, and Sacrifice.” Mayflower’s 25+ veterans and widows were listed in the program and feted in the Health Center and in Beebe Assisted Living.

Lester The Bus making deliveries

Mayflower’s Lester the Bus Resumes Grocery Runs

The Mayflower Community’s 13-passenger shuttle van, “Lester the Bus,” has resumed Wednesday afternoon store runs. For many years, prior to the pandemic, the van driven by volunteer drivers, picked up residents on the Mayflower campus and shuttled them to four stores in Grinnell: McNally’s, Fareway, Hy-Vee, and Walmart.
