Mayflower Conducts Lenten Chapel Service in Word and Music

A special Lenten Chapel service was held in The Mayflower Community on Tuesday, March 29th. The every-Tuesday worship event usually features a worship leader with a message, music, and prayer. Today, that pattern was expanded to feature musical performances with scripture reading interludes. The musicians were Jean Libbey on cello, Diane Eberhart on violin, and Joyce Wubbels on piano. In addition, on one of the pieces, Gene Wubbels sang solo.

The reader was Karen Phillips. Dottie Blazek served as host on behalf of the Mayflower Residents Association Spiritual Life Committee, which Dorothy Noer chairs.

The music was a variety of pieces, ranging from Bach, to Shaker, to Engelbert Humperdinck.
