On Friday, October 12, 2018, Glennon Doyle was the featured speaker at the West Des Moines Annual Meeting of the Iowa Conference of the United Church of Christ. As Mayflower is a ministry of the United Church of Christ, Executive Director, Steve Langerud, and Sales & Marketing Director, Bob Mann, attended the meeting.
Doyle is a much-in-demand speaker as an author, activist, and philanthropist. Her two published memoirs have been New York Times bestsellers: Carry On, Warrior (2012) and Love Warrior (32016). The latter was #1 on the NYT bestseller list and is an Oprah Book Club pick. Doyle’s career began with her blog, Momastery and includes her Facebook page.
In 2013, Doyle founded Together Rising, a national 501(c)(3) not-for-profit to solicit on-line gifts of $25 per donor for the support of women and children causes. Together has raised multi-millions since that time.
Doyle’s theme at the Iowa Conference event was how critical it is in changing times to find ways to share and connect with each other. This, too, is an important theme for The Mayflower Community as we welcome all.
