The fun just doesn’t stop in The Mayflower Community Health Center. In the pictures included with this post, residents made 4th of July décor for their suites.

The flag project is a kit that includes a sticky foam sheet and foam stickers for the stars and USA letters and sparkling pom poms along with a ribbon for hanging. In our Beebe Assisted Living, residents recently made star wreathes with nurse Angie Dillon, LPN.

The other craft project is a sand-base candle-lit lantern, reminiscent of the markers for Paul Revere’s famous Revolutionary War ride. Per Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “If the British march by land or sea from the town tonight, hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch of the North Church tower, as a signal light. One if by land and two if by sea, and I, on the opposite shore, will be ready to ride and spread the alarm.”

Well, Mayflower residents can now signal with lanterns and celebrate the flag that resulted…as we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July!
