This week, the Mayflower Community is celebrating “Nursing Facility Appreciation Week.” The spirit wear theme for Wednesday, May 12th was “Hats Off to Our Awesome Staff.” Besides wearing their own moniker hat, the staff was treated to a barbeque on the Buckley patio. The fare included hamburgers; grilled chicken; and quarter-pound, all-beef hot dogs with all the fixins’ including homemade coleslaw.
The celebration was topped off with “Music in the Circle” (the Beebe building parking Circle!). Members of Grinnell’s well-known Too Many String Band played a number of favorites as well as their own original pieces. Performing were Mayflower residents Sig Barber and Sandy and Betty Moffett, along with Bob Cadmus.
