On Friday, December 14th, Nathaniel Zhu, a Grinnell College fourth-year who is volunteering with the Adopt-A-Grandparent program at Mayflower, presented a piano recital. He is an accomplished pianist, entertaining Health Center, Beebe Assisted Living, and independent living residents with Christmas music in the Carman Center.
With the Adopt-A-Grandparent program, Nathaniel is paired with a Health Center resident with whom he spends time each week, reading, talking, and sharing in activities. Because Nathaniel speaks fluent French, he is matched with a resident who also speaks French, which she wants to keep sharp. Nathaniel brings joy to this world.
