HEALTH SERVICES: Health Center
Our Health Center provides a warm, homey atmosphere through the use of carpeting, oak trim and wall coverings. Spacious rooms enable residents to have ample closet space, room to move around and space for a favorite chair.
Health Center amenities include cable television, phone jacks, easy entrance whirlpool bathtubs, sprinkler system, emergency power outlets in each room and single room use bathrooms.
The focal point of the Health Center is the dining room. Oak paneling, patterned wall covering, color coordinated carpeting and draperies are accentuated by the chandeliers and wall sconces. The "fine dining" atmosphere sets the tone for a pleasant mealtime. A gas log fireplace provides just the right touch on chilly days.
The Mayflower's large meeting room, the Carman Center, is located on the second floor of the Health Center. This spacious room is used for a variety of purposes. Musical events are held here (some provided by Grinnell College) as well as slide shows, large parties and special events. The Health Center is connected to the central campus via Grinnell's only skywalk, making it easily accessible to all Mayflower Community residents.
Also on the second floor is the Meditation Room which can be used for private reflection, pastoral care and can be reserved for family gatherings or private dining.
The Health Center is a beautiful place to live and our staff are dedicated to providing the best care possible. With friendly smiles and willing hands, our staff carry out our ministry of meeting residents' physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
